History

In February 1902 was a city we know today as Frisco, formed from the fertile black earth of the beautiful Rolling Prairie West Collin County. At least three essential ingredients were present at the birth of our questions. The abundance of rich soil into farmland excellent, but two things were needed, transport and water.

Today our three ingredients are still working to build Frisco. With 69 square miles of land (soil) within its borders the city is seeing a diversified crop production. Wheat, cotton, corn and feed, when he grew up, we see people, houses, businesses, churches, schools, offices and parks.

Frisco Lake served its purpose as a railroad more (and a swimming hole), then the way of the steam locomotive. But water remains a major factor in our growth.Once served by wells, today we have a contract with the North Texas Municipal Water District to provide up to 29 million gallons of water per day. In 1996 we have consumed as many as seven million gallons per day, for which the contract provides sufficient water for future growth.

Although the track is still critical, cars and trucks and how to keep them moving now claim our attention. Frisco is blessed with a toll road and major state and federal roads, but they must all becompleted or widened roads, new roads to be built as soon as possible. Within the next three to five years it is estimated that 61.2 million dollars are spent on the highway, toll road, improvements and so on within the City of Frisco.
