Corporations keep scorecards, as well as statistics on players in football or baseball. Profitability, sales, customer acquisition, retention of employees and the position within the market are easy to quantify. But the leadership, one of the key elements in a society is more difficult to measure. One thing is certain, if a company with no real leadership, you can almost feel the value of that solid ground, with a market crash. There arefamous examples, and we do not even start about the current lack of confidence in the banking sector.
In determining a leader, John Maxwell says that if you do not follow his leadership, then I'm not really lead, "You're just a walk to talk." Having your name on the door of the "executive suite" does not make you a leader.
Somewhere in every successful organization leaders are authentic. This person may have a lesser title or no title, but it shows real leadership bymotivate and inspire employees. Proving that just because a leader has a title and even the government does not mean that people will follow.
No doubt a motivation and inspiration are key ingredients in the authentic leadership. How is it true you and what is important to you.
You can not give to others what you do not apply to themselves - to try to do is fake and quickly see it for what it is. A leader must clearly articulate the corporatevalues for each employee. Ratings do not you come up with the note, but by example. Considering the strong values of the organization you work - how much of what they embody, and what you see reflected in others?. If it's really important for the leader of the organization, then you see that they are in their behavior, actions and decisions. Too often I see a decoupling, and this has a very real cost.
During his years at the helm Disney empire,Michael Eisner has regularly walks around the theme parks to see things from the perspective of a visitor. Imagine the surprise on the faces of young service workers, when they saw Eisner stop to pick up trash. He led by example, showing that it is not too important and too busy to do what he asks of his employees at all levels. Very often these small seemingly insignificant things that make a huge difference.
Authentic leaders care so deeply dependent on the shop floorfloor as do the directors in the boardroom. They realize that the titles are what people, but not who I am. With this understanding, the true leader in treating each employee as an important player in the squad bigger.
Strong leadership skills and to keep the company infuse new ideas, great leaders are lifelong learners. They invest in their development, capable of reading a book, course or mixed with those whose who seek qualityembody. They are interested in feedback from all levels within the organization and outside contacts.

Then again you could invest in a 360 feedback rating based values, a strong and insightful process. It explains how genuine you really are, what your strengths are, what you wantto improve your range of flexibility in leadership styles.
